Detention and Removal
For many different reasons, foreign nationals may find themselves before the U.S. Immigration Court and possibly detained by ICE. With Calderón Seguin PLC, you will recieve direct representation before the U.S. Immigration Courts and ICE in cases involving detention and removal. Our attorneys are committed to researching, preparing, and presenting the best possible case to ensure an individual’s release and a positive outcome to court proceedings.
Our attorneys are prepared with a wealth of knowledge and experience to argue in defense of and on behalf of our clients so that they may remain in their new home, the U.S.
Asylum
At times, the world can be a perilous and dangerous place. The attorneys at Calderón Seguin PLC represent eligible individuals in applying for asylum affirmatively with the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Service and defensively before the U.S. Immigration Court. Eligible individuals are those foreign nationals who are unable to return to their home country because they fear persecution on account of race, religion, nationality, or membership in a particular social or political group. In cases where you are ineligible for asylum because of the “one year bar” or a criminal conviction, you may qualify in Immigration Court for similar relief known as withholding of removal and/or relief under the Convention Against Torture.
Immigrant Visas
There are a number of ways to obtain a “green card” or Lawful Permanent Residence in the U.S. An individual granted Lawful Permanent Residence is permitted to live and work indefinitely in the U.S. Green Card holders are also able to travel freely and eventually become eligible for U.S. Citizenship.
The attorneys at Calderón Seguin PLC have successfully obtained employment-based permanent residence for individuals with extraordinary ability; outstanding professors and researchers; certain multinational executives and managers; individuals with advanced degrees and/or exceptional ability; skilled workers, professionals, and others.
At Calderón Seguin PLC, our attorneys also assist certain family members of U.S. citizens and Lawful Permanent Residents in obtaining immigration status in the U.S. Whether your family member is here in the U.S. or overseas, our attorneys can guide you on the path to a green card.
Although the process is complex, our attorneys have the experience and knowledge to accomplish your goals.
Non-Immigrant Visas
Foreign nationals who wish to come to the U.S. for a temporary period of time must usually obtain a visa in order to enter the U.S. There are a wide variety of visas available to work, study, or train. Sometimes, determining which visa to apply for may prove difficult because an individual may fit into more than one visa category depending on their goal, level of education, family links, desired length of stay, and country of origin. The attorneys at Calderón Seguin PLC have worked with countless individuals and businesses to find the right visa at the right time.
Citizenship
At Calderón Seguin PLC, our attorneys represent many Lawful Permanent Residents in the final step of their immigration matters, obtaining citizenship in the United States. Citizenship can be a complicated affair when there are questions about presence or character. Our attorneys have the practical know-how and knowledge to help you get there.
Deferred Inspection/CBP
On occasion, individuals have difficulty entering the U.S. through the Port of Entry. Our attorneys are familiar with the process of Deferred Inspection and have substantial experience dealing with Customs and Border Patrol directly to facilitate your entry to the U.S.
Appeals
Not all cases are created equally and some require taking the process a step further. At Calderón Seguin PLC, the attorneys have the practical knowledge to help you decide how and whether to challenge a negative decision in your case. We have successfully argued and won cases at the Board of Immigration Appeals, the Administrative Appeals Office, the Board of Alien Labor Certification Appeals, and at both federal district and circuit courts.
