While she was in Law School, Yalexa was an intern with the Columbus Community Legal Services, Legal and Family Clinic and with the Virginia Hispanic Chamber of Commerce Foundation. Through these internships, he gained experience in a variety of immigration and domestic issues, including civil protection orders, Deferred Action for Child Arrivals (DACA) applications, nonimmigrant visas, and adjustment of status applications.
Yalexa obtained the title of J.D. Of the Catholic University of America Columbus School of Law and its B.S., Summa cum laude, of Southern New Hampshire University. She is admitted to practice in Virginia.
